“Year after year the ‘Il Carbonaione’ is a fantastic wine made from 100% Sangiovese and by now should be recognized by all as a flagship Italian wine. The 2010 is no exception, it is an absolutely thrilling wine that brings seductive aromas of pure ripe blackberries and black cherries are followed by espresso, scorched earth, charcoal, exotic spices and hints of herbs, which soar form the glass. It demonstrates amazing balance and finesse with fantastic underlying acidity supported by a gorgeous rich velvety texture that is layered with remarkable depth, leaving you with a lasting impression of delicious dark fruits and roasted coffee flavors that linger on and on. This is probably the best ‘Il Carbonaione’ I have ever tasted and destined to be a classic, however it will certainly need some time to fully develop in bottle and patience will be handsomely rewarded.
